Re: Shopsmith bandsaw projects

No plans for the small log. I just wanted to see if I could mill one. If I can ever find a magnolia, holly or Bradford pear (three species I would really like to work with) I know I can process it, at least for turning blanks.

Re: Shopsmith bandsaw projects

Thanks. I just put the main table with a single extension panel next to the bandsaw and put some hardboard on top to level it and make the log slide.

Re: Shopsmith bandsaw projects

As a bonus, metal mixing bowl covers cut with my circle jig using a 3/8” 8 TPI blade. Circular dado cut with a trim router. No finish yet.

Shopsmith bandsaw projects

A few months ago I bought a bandsaw attachment and after overhauling it, I bought a lot of blades and began to make things. I wanted to post some of those projects as a thank you to those who helped me get the saw up and running and perhaps as ideas to others.

I settled on 3/8” blade as my ...

Re: Head stock sticking on way tubes

I spun the way tubes. They are definitely not true and rotating them helped some. I re-waxed the tubes and that helped some more. It isn’t buttery smooth but it takes <10 pounds of force to move the headstock which is a vast improvement.

Thanks guys!

Re: Head stock sticking on way tubes

Thanks guys. I will try spinning the way tubes. I hope that helps. I don't love skidding the entire machine across the floor when I try to move the headstock.
