Now, you seem to have two problems. First, the saw arbor doesn't seat properly on the drive shaft and secondly, there may be a power or motor problem.

Gotta deal with one at a time.

Put the Shopsmith into the horizontal mode (saw mode).

Take the arbor completely off and set it aside.
