Apparently the lug nut on the lower power shaft had wiggled loose. A quick tightening with the Allen wrench and I'm back in business. Thanks guys for the feedback!

Motor runs, looses power quickly

MK V, 1998.
Using the Joiner, only taking 1/16" of a dry 2x4 skinny side, the motor slows and seems to disengage while making a rattling noise. When I remove the wood, the motor speeds back up and gets quieter. Tried on various speed settings. Plugged into laundry outlet (40amp fuse), nothing else ...

Hi folks, I inherited a Mk V from my late father, and I'm learning all that I can about the Shopsmith. I'm an amateur woodworker for many years, shelves, decorative stuff, etc. As I assemble and align the band saw I'm finding a few key parts missing, bolts, coupler, etc. I'll be ordering those soon ...
