I concede mine is square drive too clearly marked diston .thats why i ask you guys. I have much to learn.Now that I understand it it works surprisingly well.

checked with my dad in fla those are metal pins with a head and a scratched or burred side to keep them snug when tapped in on only the first of them made.he is a retired tool&die man. his ss is 30years newer than mine.

thanks for the vintage machine link i get it. mine must be slightly older because the adjusters are square drive and it doesnt have nyloc screws but two pins driven from the back with finish nail.

I have the adjusting tool ,tried to set it on the same letter on both sides failed. letters are from a to z but i am puzzled where to set them for what.

I have 1954 mark 5 with a magna dado,proper set up and adjustment eludes me anyone have the needed information on this dinosaur.
