I found a good used tool rest on ebay. The tailstock is there so at least i dont have it buy that.
I am the kind of person that will stick at something until i become good at it.
Can't see the point in buying cheap tools. If you are going to buy something buy a good one and look after it. Works out ...

picked up a shopsmith mark v today. main unit is functional, legs etc all good. has most of the table saw and the sanding disk, but nothing else.
