I know this has been gone over a million times, but on my machine something inside the speed control has started making some terrible noise so I am attempting to remove the dial. Bandsaw upper wheel bearing play
Is it normal to have a slight play in the bearing or should it be tight?
The lower wheel has no play.
Shopsmith only offers the bearing included with the wheel.

Well I got the coupling package from Shopsmith so problem solved right?
Wrong!!! The accessories hub has 4 spline grooves but the plastic coupling shaft has 5 splines on that end.
So back to the pulley drive...
Anyone know the rpm's of the mark V drive motor?
I can figure out the nessessary speed ...

Why would be that I can get 2 pulleys and a belt for $12.00 and get the saw running until the drive coupler that is ordered but backordered arrives.
Shopsmith said it might be a while and I need to use the bandsaw now.
