I didn't realize that I had to move the tailstock to the right in orzder to mount the tool rest. That makes perfect sense and i should be off and turning. Thank you all very very much. You guys are SUPER!!! Thanks again.

Tool Rest
My MK V does not appear to have a mount for the lathe tool rest. I inherited a machine that was manufactured in 1982. Am I missing something? I have the mount for the table saw and drill press but it is on the opposite end from the lathe and work to be turned. I'm new at this and I hate to bother ...

I recently inherited a shopsmith MK V. It was purchased in 1982. I am having difficulty with two things: how do i get the extended table off and how do I convert the system to a drill press? It appears that the legs of the extended table are preventing the conversion to drill press.
