Need some help on a design!
I received about a year ago a very nice cutting board. I don't plan on ever using it because it has the UT Logo and our Family name CNC'd into it. I want to mount it up above my pantry door in the kitchen for show. It is about 1-1/2" x 13" x 24" and it is fairly heavy. Obviously don't want it falling off when I close the pantry door. Anybody have any ideas????
Thanks,
Thanks,
Alan - Austin, Texas

You can use a router bit like this one -- http://www.freud-tools.com/freud52tslot.html -- to route "T" slots in the back of the cutting board and then use screws and wall anchors to hang it. This will allow you mount the cutting board flush against the wall. Key hole hangers will give you a similar effect. Other possibilities are ring hangers or saw tooth picture hangers attached to the back.

Two 'L' shaped strips 24" long by 2" by ?. The 'bottom' one has a shallow lip. The 'top' one has a deeper lip. That allows mounting the strips to the wall, then inserting the cutting board up into the upper enough to clear the lower lip and set down into the lower strip. The upper(and or lower) strip could have stops to prevent sideways movement.

I agree, but it 'functions' so contrary to a lifetime of manual drafting that I have not gotten my contrary mind to absorb it well enough to use effectively for short excursions. That and updates that have set my learning curve back(to the point of frustration)
I also am a top down read to understand the big picture person and a terribly inept learn from the bottom up by example person. I have extreme impatience with 'this is how to do this narrowly defined thingie' tutorials that provide no insight into the master scheme of how it all fits together. I learn much quicker and proficiently from the opposite approach. Understand structure first, then 'details'. That way I know where to 'store' the details!
