New Saw Blades

There is absolutely no reason to think of harsh cleaners to clean a gunked up saw blade. I believe the thinking toward harsh cleaners is really mis-guided.

Blame Francis for the dishwasher!

Where does gasoline work best? In an internal combustion engine, or to wash your hands?

I use washing soda at a ratio of 1/4 cup in 1 qt water, let it soak then brush any stubborn areas with a stiff nylon brush or if need be a brass brush. Needs to set for a couple of hours.

You get more bang for the buck with an internal combustion engine(that is why they add anti-knock compounds)!:D;)

Just a couple of pics of blades from my portable saw. First blade in solution of pure ammonia. Second pic is removed, brushed with brass brush and waxed with Johnson's Paste Wax. Bottle of ammonia all of $1 at Dollar Tree.
