Magna Precision Dado
I just picked up an old Magna Dado for my Mark 5. However it is missing the small adjusting gears. Does anyone know if there are any sources for getting replacements? Thanks for your help!
I had to pry mine apart one time as it was stuck on 3/4". (frozen in place when removed from the arbor) Once loose, put a little oil on the mating faces and now take care not to over-tighten it on the arbor. Don't remember a set screw or gear, but there is a roll pin used as a sliding? dowel. Not sure I remember the purpose of this roll pin, but the blade works with it and doesn't work well without it.
I have used a indelible Sharpie to mark the exact places on the outside wheel that will produce 3/4", 1/2" and 1/4" when lined up with the inside pointer. Each of these marks are a little to the large side of the intended dado width.
