yea
after the start of this thread, I got one, on sale helped and no shipping charges.

It doesn't fit in my 510 table either.

but I really like it and it seems well made and solid, so I think I will try to grind down on side to make it fit

I have a Rigid oscillating bench top sander with the belt sander attachment. I used it and ground down the bar so it fit in less than 5 minutes. Works great!

FWIW Straight flat surfaces are more easily produced with a 'flat' file.

0.01"(or less) off each edge takes very little time!

Sorry to hear the jig didn't fit right off the shelf...I don't have any experience with SS tables other than the 500, so apologies if I misled you.
Sounds like the fix wasn't too hard, though. Glad to hear it all turned out well.

Anyone with a Shopsmith should know that the miter bar is NOT STANDARD and that very few manufacturers make accessories that fit the Mark V. When one goes to purchase items like the "Thin Rip" it would be wise to verify compatibility before you become the proud owner.

well I figured since a SS owner said it was out of the box for him and it had and expanding miter bar it would work.

no problem

it took about 2 minutes on the belt sander to fix.

Any thing that worked on a 500 should have worked on a 510 or 520.


There be some cornfusion here. How wide were the bars that did not 'fit'?:confused:
