Joints to handle wood movement?

I would join the boards with a tongue and groove and just nail them on with a centered nail top and bottom in perhaps 3 locations across the width. Tongue and groove is usually used in these applications where solid wood, rather than plywood or manufactored wood products that don't move, is used.
