mark v router table and fence, advice needed

Hi all, I have been given a shopsmith mark V router table and router fence, I am having issues trying to figure out a way to easily offset the outfeed fence from the infeed whilst keeping everything level, the fence arrived with a single bit of mdf attached to each of the of the 2 pieces of aluminium that make up the shopsmith fence, I'm hoping that someone might have some ideas on how I could adapt the fence to make it a bit easier for a novice to use?

At the moment, all I can really think of is shimming the outfeed fence and also adding a 2nd set of sacrificial front faces so that I can treat it like a split fence to close up the gap when necessary.

Don't know which router table and fence you have. Could you elaborate with a photo or a part number?

If your two fences look like two angle irons with holes, it is better In my opinion to just store them and build your own fence. That's what I did with my fence that came with item# 555658 Shopsmith Mark V Router Table.

Hi Charles, The fence part number is 515511, the router table is 555658.

it is essentially 2 bits of angled ali with slots, I've had a little think about it, I need to go and double check holes/slots etc. but perhaps using a flat base piece going across the 2 fences would allow offset adjustment, have the infeed so that it's fixed in some way with the outfeed fence still able to move relatively freely, I can then add sacrificial faces to the front of the fence plates that can act as a split fence. I could possibly even add a block with a bolt through it and rig up a micro adjustment thing for the outfeed fence.

Yep! I am still storing my two metal fence pieces. Found some plans for a shop made fence and use that with the router table. Will show a photo or two of my fence as soon as I can get on my other computer.

BTW - I love this router table more than I originally thought. When it is in it's storage place it can be used as a table for parts and wood parts. Even a storage place for my Shopsmith light.

It came from my dad, I haven't had a chance to use it at all yet but it looks like it will do the job it was built for, nice and thick, t-mitre slot etc. I will build a unit for it to sit in permanently that's the same height as my bench (when I've built that too) then I can use that for support for larger pieces.

Here are some photos:
If you build a fence it should have sliding faces to close around a router bit as well as a dust collecter box. This photo was taken when on another table, but it now has been adapted to the Shopsmith table. It only took two slots on the base to fit the new table.
