Shopsmith overseas - 220v 50Hz

Post by sandyj »

The Speed range of the SS according to everything I have read is based on the 60Hz power transmission system. What difference in speed would one expect when the transmission here in NZ is 220V ac 50Hz? Do I have to divide by 60 and multiply me 50 to get the correct RPM?
Any ideas please?
Thankyou

The 50Hz speed chart is listed in PTWFE 4th edition pg 12.

Thanks Randy.

Is that you with the pipes? I play Bass Drum in the Pipes & Drums of Signals Association (NZ).

Yes that's me and my pipes.

I play with Elgin & District and the R.C.M.P. "C" Divison pipes and drums up here in Montreal, Canada.
