I am not aware of any spec but I believe the built in clinometer in the iPhone is as accurate as my Beal Tilt Box (Wixey clone). I started using the iPhone as a clinometer about 18 months ago after discovering two free apps, ihandy level and bubblelevel. Those to apps display their readings to the tenth of the degree. I checked them against the readings I got with my Wixey and they were the same. For some reason, the new built-in iPhone level program reads in whole degree increments only.

iPhone app with tenths of degrees displayed

Thanks for the reminder of another iPhone use.

That reminder led to a search of iTunes apps and the download of a suitable clinometer app.
