shopsmith saw fence

Hi All.
im new to the forum, i'm based in the UK and have just bought a 510. i have loads of questions that hopefully you guys can help with, the first one is. i know the shopsmith isn't ideally suited (or so im told) for ripping 8 x 4 sheets. i have looked at all the different table accesories available, to aid in this size of stock, can you tell me the ideal set up (maybe a picture or two) for this. thanks in advance

I personally don't cut full sheets (or large pieces) of plywood on my SS or on any table saw I've ever owned unless I have at least one (and preferably more) helpers…just too dangerous and difficult to maintain control against the fence etc. Perhaps this would be different if I had a 510/520 or a large cabinet saw but I don't…instead, I make a fence with a straight board and clamps and cut with my skilsaw. Even with a larger table saw or a 510/520, I would still want a helper. I find it's a lot easier, safer, and more accurate to have a good saw horse set up or similar and to leave the plywood stationary and move the saw rather than vice versa. If I had a large enough shop and was cutting up plywood with any regularity, I'd probably consider getting one of those vertical plywood saws.
