I second the coffee fix, tho I use Folgers plastic 'cans' (called "aroma saver" or some such). These things are amazing. I can have regular old peanuts in the shell sitting in a bowl on the table, and they go 'soft' in a few days in this atmosphere. (I finally threw 'em out- to the birds- just because I knew they were old.)
Speaking of atmosphere- I learned I cannot hang up sanding belts on anything, exposed. I reached up and snagged one off it's hook t'other day and it literally came apart at the 'seam'! Various materials are affected differently. I think it's the sulfuric acid in the air blowin in from da Big Island.

Any ideas how to repair strip sander belts where the tape holding the ends together to form the loop have dried out?

Nope! I use them for hand polishing etc..
