Hi folks!

Yes I'm a noob to this stuff and I'm sure you get these questions all the time but which Mark V do you think is the better deal?

My wife and I are really looking forward to doing some wood working together and like I said earlier, I'm very new to this wonderful hobby.

The one in Tucson seems to have a few more things but costs more. As one who has sold (even Shopsmith stuff) on CL, prices are negotiable. If they're in comparable condition, I'd try to get a lower price on the Tucson sale.

Welcome to the forum. My vote would be the one in Tucson. Like wgander said CL, prices are negotiable, offer what you would like to pay for it, and go from there. The most he can say is no. Good luck

The more $ one has a lathe duplicator.

If that is meaningful to you then it is the deciding factor.

If not, then $ is the deciding factor.

Yes comparable condition assumed.

Thanks guys! Lots to think about. Lots of older models for sale for a lot less. I just want a quality tool that doesn't need much if any work.

Then 'condition' will top the list!;)

But do keep in mind many 50+ year old units are still going strong.

A 'new' one will require the same 'maintenance attention'.(new Power Pro excepted).

The Oro Valley deal appears the better between these two. Many more extras in evidence there. Much of it in unused condition.

However, as JPG points out, the older machines vary little if at all from later models; and all require at least basic maintenance. So why scrimp?

Hey! Maybe you can grab the Oro Valley AND an older greenie for cheap? :-)
