Deal breakers?

Going to look at a green mark v tomorrow. Any deal breakers? I want to make a double header on mine so I can eliminate or vastly reduce tool changes. Any thoughts?

Too much $$$. Just about everything else is repairable/replaceable.

My first thought is - with two headstocks you will almost eliminate the ability to raise the way tubes to vertical. If you are strong enough, or have some type of a mechanical lift, then vertical would not be much of a problem except for stability. Lack of stability could lead to a dangerous situation.

Thanks Charlese. I don't really care about vertical...at least at this point. I have a drill press. I love the idea of having a small table saw, jointer, band saw, sander etc all ready to go in a tiny foot print. If that becomes an issue then I can pick up another.

I have thought of that.

I found out the headstock needs a new concentric bushing ear. Don't know if I'd want to weld it or find new one. Don't know what to do about that.

Well...it comes with a new BS, jointer and jigsaw and the normal accessories with a few extra ones. So, the headstock is essentially free I guess.

You could pick up a used headstock on ebay...
