It is a good running machine through the entire speed range, and looks like it will be my primary worker.
I am guessing it is a bit 'younger'. My '63' is 377425. It should be Magna American 1 1/8 hp Poly-V.

Where did you 'look it up'?

I went to the shopsmith site, then support. it said 61 started with 368971, then said no data from 62-72. I guess I took no data to be no production. What is the correct way to look it up?
The sickness is spreading:

Mark V goldie 1962 (I think)
Mark V grey 1978

That is the reason I asked.;) 61-62 was a period of adjustment from Yuba to Magna American. I do believe production was low.

Last Gilmer by Yuba was 371347. Yuba did produce 1 1/8 hp models which I assume were Poly-V. I have a Yuba vent plate with 372920 1 1/8 hp.

It was staring me in the face. 1 1/8 HP. Made my first project on the shopsmiths today. A wood doormat. Used the saw, Dado blade, on the goldie, and set up the greenie as a drill press for the holes. Tomorrow I will put the project together. Everything is cut. It looks good. I like them.

For right now, the shop is called outside.
I will post a pic when i am done, should be tomorrow.
I used red cedar, and since it will be an outside piece, I will leave it rough, minimal sanding.

I am not sure what i am going to use for a workshop long term. I have a 14 X 22 shed, that if I run electrical to it and rebuild the front wall, I could set it up. I can also take part of my 30 X 40 garage. The garage has a 200 amp service, but I also work on my car collection too. I have a 1978 Mercedes 450SEL 6.9 sitting in the middle of it that I have been restoring long term. Sawdust doesn't mix that great with car work.

Decisions.... I also have the old garage that's 20 X 22. I could re-purpose it as a woodworking shop, but it would take a lot to make it nice.

I would not mix restoring old cars or metal working with any woodworking tasks. I found these types of work do not mix well and can cause problems in both areas. I would go for an external shop. I used #4 copper wire that will handle 60 amp which is a very cost effective way I provided power to my shop and my garage. This has worked for me for many years now. This is the minimum wire size to use but larger would be better. I do recommend going with at least a 12 breaker circuit box for the any external shop. Most work to set up an external shop can be done by a do-it-yourself person. A some what smooth and level floor is a first need. There are many Forum members to answer your questions as you progress with the work. You can add cooling and heating later if not in the initial budget.

Electrical is no issue. I put a 200 amp service in my 30 X 40 garage. 19 110 circuits, 3 220. The issue is where to run the wire? Way too much concrete between the garage and the shed. I don't really want wires run overhead either.

Updated with the goldie picture. Finally figured out re-sizing with my phone.
