First project, a red cedar doormat
Here is my first project with my shopsmiths. The slats are supported by a dado. Much ripping in the cut diagram, all from a single 8 foot 2X6.
The holes on top are for appearance.
Materials needed:
1 2X6X8'
30 1/8" thick plastic washers
2 30" 1/4 threaded rod
i used casing nails to hold the corners together.

I am applying some "orangish-brown" semi transparent deck stain to it. It will kind of match the brick of our house. I just lightly sanded it, as I don't want an outside doormat to be smooth.

Put that way, it does sound funny. We can get a fair amount of snow. The idea, is to stomp off as much snow as you can, then come into the entry where there is a rug. I am sure you get some of the white stuff in Kentucky..." wrote:Nicely done!

Went to a MA ski resort(in the summer) and at every entranceway there was a steel grate with a foot deep hole beneath it. Open ended to 'drain'.

Wodeck, Devils advocate here, been there done it, nice job, but the miter joints will fail on the border unless you reinforced them some how. Splined/ect.
Measure once, cut as many times as needed to get it right! Bob
