In all forums, to the left of the thread title, there is an icon. On some threads, that icon appears to be scrolling text while on other threads the text is not scrolling. Is there any significance to the difference?
Also, in some of the icons there is a red star. Does that have any significance?

Re: Thread Labels
You are in Prosilver? I believe scrolling means something is new since you last went there. I use Shopsmith1 and rather than scrolling there are envelopes. Blue and closed envelope means nothing new, I think. Yellow open envelope with a note in it it seems to means there's something new to be read.
Re: Thread Labels
I am using prosilver too. The icon is red when there is an unread post. I think the scrolling means a member is viewing that thread.

Re: Thread Labels
Also, I believe the red star means that you have posted something in that thread.
Re: Thread Labels
I believe that the scrolling icon indicates that the thread has grown to more than one page.

Seems you're on the right track. But it's not more than one page. It appears to start scrolling once the thread has 14 replies.rpd wrote:I believe that the scrolling icon indicates that the thread has grown to more than one page.

Re: Thread Labels
Very interesting observations. I do believe the mystery has been solved. Soon, I will be as comfortable with this software version as I was before.
