Keeping tools handy

I use magnetic holders intended to keep electric wires and cables in place to keep my Shopsmith accessory tools handy. They are strong enough to hold a double ended wrench for my Routing System, and fit out of the way on all the others, like my Scroll Saw. There are many styles available; these mount with a nut and bolt, magnets out, to hold the tools. I got these for free...they moved our office several times and these were never packed up and reused. They're designed for metal bordered cubicle partitions.

Great idea....if you can find that type. I use the round rare earth type. they work well enough when there's ferrous metal to stick them too.

I'm using harddrive magnets for this. They hold a lot of weight and unlike regular magnets the tools tend to stay where yo put them.

You know that "Hard drive" magnets are rare earth magnets, don't you?

Gene was right, (except for the whole "round" thing.) I also scavenge rare earth magnets from
HDDs, just for this purpose, too.

Yes. I know harddrive magnets are rare earth magnets. My point is that they are much larger than the little button size batteries and they are free (to me).
