Bimini. I'm an owner of a new Mark 7 also. Been fun learning, but definitely good to have a resource for "stupid" questions. For instance...How do I mount a fence to my bandsaw?
Any way keep posting.
BTW -- I have a vacation place in the "Redneck Riviera". Love it.

Just in case your fence question was an issue for you rather than an example question -- Answer: You need a bandsaw fence! I know of two sources for new fences. There may be more. 1) Shopsmith; http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cata ... wfence.htm 2) Kreg bandsaw fence. Shopsmith also carries these. http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cata ... wfence.htmJTD7366 wrote:Bimini. I'm an owner of a new Mark 7 also. IIWM, I would clean off the oil and wax it.
I assume that oil it a rust preventative, not intended as a lubricant(or dust collector

Re: just bought a Mark 7
Well, back in the days of UseNut and FidoNet, we got annoyed at people who asked questions that had been answered too often. Therefore I tend to lurk through past posts and search for answers.JTD7366 wrote:Bimini. I'm an owner of a new Mark 7 also. I am aware that in these days of Web fora that it is accepted practice to ask first and read later, but I'm somewhat set in my ways.
Besides, this is a fun forum to read through. And I'm sure to ask something before I get very familiar with this fancy contraption.

Alrighty then. I'll be sure to do that before my next sawdust flingin' episode. I've only done some quicky cross cuts for a short patio fence so far, but I NEED to build a bench or two.JPG wrote:IIWM, I would clean off the oil and wax it.

Sorry, I don't mean to hijack your thread, woodywork. Just saw some familiar topics here.

When I first posted this I was so busy with my mark VII I forgot to get back on here. Yes!! It was a steal. Its amazing, I may even turn myself in to the local PD. They will probably look at me strange at first but when the captain, who is a woodworker finds out why, he'll say "arrest that feller!"

Great deal!!!!
It aint madness, its insanity, because we keep doing the same thing over and over again and get the same results, buying SS stuff.
