What thickness/grade of exterior plywood would be good for lawn ornaments? Note: These lawn ornaments will also be painted.
Please advise.

If they are going to be in contact with the ground I would use marine grade plywood. Thickness would depend on how big the ornaments will be. Small ornaments 1/2" big ornaments 3/4" (big would be 3 or 4 feet high). My guess is you will get a number of differing opinions on this.

I would make some stakes from treated 2x2's. That way the plywood can be off the ground and the wind will not blow them around. They will stay in place.
Re: Thickness/grade of exterior plywood
I will likely attach barn spikes to the bottom of them. Marine plywood is out of sight for pricing.
Or stakes too. What about the grading of plywood? I see B-C, what does this actually mean?

I have used 1/2" ext plywood, painted and sealed. Still looks good after about 12 years. I don't remember what sealer I used, but it was for ext. They are not out in the weather that long.

Santa Claus is about 5' with a conduit that I drive into the ground and clamped to the wood.
