I will update this thread, as I continue building this second project.
These picket sections, began as Mug Staves. And when I saw just how much work was involved in creating these staves, I choose to scrap that idea and therefore, these same staves became pickets.

Dry fit of pickets on base.
All lumber is air dried, for 10 to 15 years. All lumber was rough cut. Species, Oak, Hickory and Black Walnut.

Think of a whiskey barrel. They are comprised of staves. A mug stave, is simply smaller.

I am building multiple copies of these lamps.
The first six are 100% hardwoods and then next six will be 100% softwoods. All but one (a hardwood variety) will then be taken to a flea market, during Memorial Day, weekend.
