Newbie just got a 10er
Hello all, just found you and hope I'm in the right place. I haven't done much woodworking since HS, but picked it up a bit this summer. For a little background I am on disability and was looking for hobbies to occupy my time. My wife and got hooked on auctions and I started picking up some tools. I began with a tablesaw and have added drillpress, planner, bandsaw, scrollsaw, compound mitersaw, and this weekend I bought a shopsmith 10er for $40. I didn't know much and have been reading what I can find. It looks like I am only missing the two centers (drive and cup?). I am looking for any hints, tricks and advice anyone can spare. Thanks

Any of the shopsmith centers will fit. The tailstock has a MT2(#2 Morse Taper) socket, and the quill has a 5/8" shaft.jbkdg1221 wrote:Hello all, just found you and hope I'm in the right place. There's a motherlode of 10ER info at VintageMachinery.org. This link will take you right to the page you want. In addition to manuals for the machine and accessories, there are a number of "Shopsmith Shavings" newsletters that are chock full of tips for using the machine.

Does this fall under the category "if there are no pictures, then it didn't happen?"jbkdg1221 wrote:Hello all, just found you and hope I'm in the right place. I don't see any pics. Did you resize them if necessary and upload them?jbkdg1221 wrote:Here are a few pics. It seems in good shape. I am still going through the box. I have a 1-5 of shaving mags and other pamphlets for the mark v. I hope they show up.

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them.
