When I got my Shopsmith this spring, I was a little reluctant to give up my drill press, but I needed the space. After the last couple of projects, I have to say, no regrets. Having a big, tilting table with a fence to clamp things to made this boring job quick and easy.
Kid-friendly putters in a variety of sizes for my sons' school carnival.
As for the drill press, I also gave it to the school, so I could still visit it now and then.
My oldest son and I had a punny exchange one night when he asked me what I was reading, and I told him I was reading the boring chapter in my Shopsmith book, and I read him all the boring section headings.
A boring evening, puttering around.

You are not quite fully equiped for that job. You need to give some serious consideration to something like this. http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cata ... e_jaws.htm

The Greatness officially starts
Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them.

Leave her alone Dusty! Give credit where it is due. Good thinking re the clamping without a fancy drill press vise.
One more(at least) than I would have used.

Three is far safer!
