My Shopsmith Has a New Home

My "shop" is my garage bay and the garage is overflowing with junk. No horizontal surface goes unused, including the Shopsmith. So, whenever I want to do anything with the Shopsmith, I have to unload the layers of junk from it first.

I built an Over-the-Shopsmith bench. Hopefully, with the Shopsmith not loaded with stuff, I'll be able to use it more. The slatwall was an afterthought and is attached to the bench. It will look kind of funny if I ever move it away from the stairs, but it fits well now. I'm a very green beginner at woodworking and this is one of my first projects. I started it about a year ago and finally got it done. Tackling the mess underneath is next.

I like the concept but it appears that the shopsmith won't easily roll out from the table. Is that correct or is it just the perspective from the photo? If not, what do you do to get the SS out?

Just perspective. I mis-measured somewhere (I think I didn't take into account the bracket height of the casters), and I wound up with an extra inch of clearance. That allowed me to leave the drawer fronts with an overhang on the bottom to be grabbed for opening. When I get a chance, I'll add pulls.

Just by luck, the distance between the legs is just over 27 inches, allowing me to hang the floating tables under the bench using the table connector tubes.
