Table Saw Picture Frames

Last year for my brother's wedding I made them a matching set of 5x7, 8x10 and 10x13 picture frames out of red oak. It was my first project with my ShopSmith. Stupid me, I have no pictures what so ever of the frames. This is a picture of the profile of them.

I am making another set but with five 5x7 and one 8x10 in a cross shape. 8x10 horizontal in the center with two horizontal 5x7's on the sides, a vertical on top and two verticals on the bottom. I am going to wrap the whole thing in 3/8ish walnut.

Today I got my red oak cut to rough lengths, ripped and squared up to 1-1/2 x 1-1/2.

I figured out my grain direction. What a pain. The two horizontal 5x7's are going to have contrasting grain from the others. Since I'm going to wrap the frames I'm not cutting out the back portion of the frame this time so I have meat to attach the walnut.

I want my grain to be continuous around each frame so a little prep work there.

Hmm, I see pictures. Just not pictures of the finished frames cuz I'm still working on them. Anyone else not seeing pictures?

I didn't get as much done today as I wanted but you can't rush a good job.

I got my sides cut to rough length.

I then got my faces cut.

Edit: deleted pic cuz not about sandpaper

Then it was time for some hand sanding to remove the saw marks.

Next, will be setting up the new dado stack to do the 3/8" rabbets.

I have no idea how the 3M sandpaper works. However, I can tell you the SS ceramic G3 paper is outstanding. Belts and ROS disks are on eBay and cheaper than Lowe's. It does not clog and lasts forever.
