Actually, what I was doing, was sharing my customer service experience. This is my last post on this thread.

I PM'ed you but let me say publicly I meant no offense to you, you were not in my thoughts when I made those comments.

There seems to be a few people running around through the internet complaining about SS on everything from the color of the machine to the customer service people didn't kiss their butt properly and it is getting old. These are the people that would complain if you hung them with a new rope, you just can't make them happy

However my comments were not aimed at you personally in any form or fashion. Sorry

I only hope, Ed that those people whom you feel so strongly about do know exactly how you feel. It is my opinion that those strong feelings should be very clearly stated to the parties involved in private.

What they do with it from that point on is up to them.

Oh I think they know but how can you ever tell for sure. They are the kind of people that see their actions as righteous indignation. They are the kind of people that complain when a manufacture doesn't stock the part on a 50 year old machine they found sitting in an old barn.

Now I'm going to keep quiet on this subject before I get myself into any more trouble

I disagree!!! THEY typically are so self UNAWARE that they would not recognize that you ARE referring to THEM!:(

Thus it IS a waste of otherwise good time better spent doing something not so upsetting!:D

Be sure to walk softly while on thin ice! This forum is full of dedicated and loyal Shopsmith Inc. users. Negative comments and statements are not appreciated here. Owning a Shopsmith MKV and liking it is not enough to be a true loyal fan. You must also support the Shopsmith Inc no matter what and always defend it against all enemies. If you don't follow these suggestions you'll be subject to PM's and asked to explain yourself! Now be nice and play the game as our forum leaders would have us do! (They are the ones who live on the form more then they do in their shop)

Sorry Ed, I think I over re-acted. Your post was shortly after mine and not thinking at the time, there were 4 pages of the stuff before mine.

Pat,

If you are ever down here in Florida you might bring Ed a can of silicone spray lubricant as a peace offering.

paul heller wrote:Where are you guys going to track your orders? The only place I see is a link from the bottom of the main shopsmith.com website page that says "check order status" and the next think I am asked for is an order number and a telephone number.

You guys seem to have found a place that lists all open orders??

Paul
Wow! this thread got away from this issue faster than a sspeeding bullet! Maybe this will help - -

The first way to access orders in through "Frequently Asked Questions"
http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/faq/ ... .htm?onum=

The second way is through the shopsmith.net forums: http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/chkstatus.htm?

Ed in Tampa wrote:I read these complaints and I wonder if people just complain to hear themselves. Shopsmith customer service is one of the best. If you don't believe it try ordering some things from a few other manufactures. One I know of has their customer service in India, while they speak English it is with an interesting accent (hard to near impossible for me to understand) and they have no idea of American colloguialisms (which makes carrying on a meanful conversation nearly impossible for me). I know of another company that simply doesn't have any way to have human contact outside of email. If you can't resolve the problem by email you aren't going to resolve the problem. Then there are the infamous push 3 for x, 4 for y and 5 for z phone answering systems where you wear yourself and your phone out pushing the buttons only to hear your being transferred to an operator ..... dial tone.

Come on guys, the economy is tanking, businesses are going out faster than anyone imagined, sure Shopsmith is cutting back but they are still there and their customer service is doing a super job.

I'm really starting to believe some people want to see Shopsmith fail for what ever reason and they keep finding fault. I don't know if they think if SS fails they can buy it, or that they can run a parts business if SS fails, or if they think their SS will increase in value but it seems they take every chance they can to take a pot shot at the company. WHY?????????

I know every order I have ever placed with SS was handled by super people, some things were backordered but I was promptly made aware of the reason and expected delivery date and given the choice whether I wanted to wait or not. Yes sometimes the phones are busy, but in nearly every case it was expected, near noon or toward the end of the day. However I have found if I try in mid morning, mid afternoon they promptly take my call. I don't do much mail order business but again I have never had a problem with SS. I have with other companies, which makes me wonder why is so many are faulting SS???
Great Quote. Thanks.
Chris
