Just joining community. I have a Shopsmith Mark V - works like it did on day 1 with an bandsaw attachment, joiner, Bandsaw etc. Use and like it as much as I did on day one 40+ years ago when purchased new.

Welcome, literally just joined myself. I have a full shop but wanted a Shopsmith since I was a kid. I purchased an older Mark V yesterday via Marketplace. Great deal with three attachments. Well taken care of. I honestly can't believe the quality, even more than I dreamed of. Excited to get it up and running.

Welcome to the Shopsmith Forum.
You will find a wealth of information here as well as helpful members happy to answer any questions you may have. When asking questions a picture will help explain the question. As they say "a picture is worth a thousand words." Pictures can be inserted using the Attachments tab when posting using the full editor. There is a file size limitation and phone cameras pictures are generally too large of a file so a photo editor can be used to reduce the file size.
Another helpful piece of information when asking questions is when the tool was made. This can be determined by the serial number or date code for tools made after December 1987. Changes made to the tools over the years can change the information that would be correct for your era of tool.
Hopefully you both received Manuals with your tools. DWM you probably have them since you are the original owner. If not, many are available as PDF's either directly from Shopsmith or links on the Forum plus other sources. Don't waste your money buying printed copies of original Manuals on the internet. The Manuals are a valuable resource on getting to know your Shopsmith tools, how to preform maintenance, alignment and how to use them. Since these tools are new to you, I recommend doing a regular maintenance on them prior to use.
