Shopsmith Newbie - Miter Bump

looks like you have some good advice. You came to the right place, for sure.
I'd add one more piece. Make sure you do this during the day. You don't want things to "go bump in the night". Scary!!:eek:

Are you talking about screw #237 ? http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/part ... xpview.htm If so it's only function is to tlt the rip fence for using the flat sanding disk. Not a real good system, but it worked if you feed the wood from the back of the table toward the front.

Hi Chuck,

I think he means part #270 for the miter gauge - not the part for the fence.

Thanks for the reference and the jig idea. It's interesting one can get 50 for less than the cost of two from Shopsmith. Of course from Shopsmith you don't have to cut your own slot

which perhaps explains the price?

Yes, that little bugger. Hmm, I guess I'll get to that section when I actually use the sanding disc...
