I got my SS from my Dad when they moved into a CONDO. Fact is I don't have the woodworking intelligence and need the money to get rid of the extras that he has with it that I will never use. Possibly sell the whole thing. What is a fair price and is anybody looking for add ons?

Depends on what model the Shopsmith is, How old, is it rusted etc...

What attachments do you have? Again how old?

What part of the world are you from?

That is exactly how I got my first Shopsmith. Now I have many of them, including 3 10ER's. I never paid more than $150 for any of them as I recall. People like yourself find themselves with a 'white elephant' and the way things are, no one is paying much unless it is restored, or still in boxes. The other thing some people do is terrible in my opinion, they totally disassemble the Shopsmith & sell the pieces. Look on Ebay. You might not be interested now, but one day you'll have nothing but free time & needing things to do.

There are a lot of informative videos Nick Engler put out where he demonstrates how to really get the most out of a Shopsmith. It is not a perfect tool, but there isn't much it can't do if you really want to.

Gee Drumma, you post a hard question. The value of the Shopsmith is the pleasure it gives the craftsman. You have received a valuable but possibly worthless gift from your Dad. Much depends on the model and the condition. There have been many improvements over the years, and current users are all breathlessly awaiting the announced PowerPro upgrade. Thus, the limit of your find. Not knowing where you live, what you enjoy, or your family makeup, I hesitate too many opinions. Perhaps another family member would love the hobby of woodworking? Perhaps the value may be better to you as a tax deduction if the unit were to be donated to a school or training facility?
As for book (street value), sorry I have no idea and no interest in purchasing an older unit.
