A friend cut me a few chunks of some ceder logs that he cut more than 10 yrs ago, they are cracking a bit, but came out nice
i turned a really nice simple bowl tonight
i have been playing around with some sample pieces and decided that its time to turn a bowl
now i have a question
can some one post a pic and tell me what the tool names are for each chisel ?
i know what most of them do just not sure on what the names are
What are each one best used for... turning bowls ect ?
i havent turned in yrs and when i did i was in shop class and in my uncles shop
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop. .

Here is a link from Woodturning Online that has all kinds of information that may be helpful to you. It will take you sometime to go through everything but I think you will find it quite interesting and valuable as well and may answer some of your questions about chisels.
I picked up a book recently on tool sharpening and if I recall, it went through the various lathe tools and what each was used for.. It was I believe "Complete Guide to Sharpening" by Leonard Lee.. It might be of interest..
