Down near the bottom of the box of 'stuff' I acquired with the pre-owned Mark V and bandsaw, were two coiled bandsaw blades that had seen better days a long time ago. To say they are rusty might be sugar-coating the facts. My questions are: 1) is there a way to clean up the blades? 2) how would one go about restoring/cleaning them? 3)will it be worth the time? and 4) the cost of new blades isn't that much, so would it be easier all the way around to just toss the 'used blades' and spring for new ones?

Welcome to the forum Wayne. You could just soak em in evapro-rust. But ya might want to make sure they are sharp enough to use first.
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

At 11 to 20 or so bucks each for new blades, I'd be very reluctant to restore/reuse a rusty old blade.
Despite my innate cheapness, I threw out the rusty blade that came with my bandsaw without giving a second thought. The way rust works, the welded joint is probably a prime target, and the last thing I need is to have the blade break.

I just bought a few days ago, a second -newer- bandsaw which came with 10 somewhat rusty blades. IDH, how long do you soak them in the CLR? I have never used that product:) .
