I was torn as to whether or not to start a new thread, or add to the old ones, but I decided upon a fresh start. However, for each chapter, I'll start by posting the link to the previous discussions:

A lot of common-sense safety information in this chapter. The most interesting thing I learned was that the drive hub on the left can be replaced with any tool that is not rotation-direction-dependent. (no saw blades)

For example sanding disks with different grits can be mounted at the same time.

No grinding wheels either!

The issue is with WHAT secures the rotating widget on the arbor. The nut variety must be either mounted so the working force tends to tighten it, or a keyed lock washer and a keyed shaft be used. Any rotating part secured by set screws(only) does not have that problem(disc sander).
