Very interesting. Now if you could please post a couple closeups of the mating piece.

It is certainly redesigned! It is not as simple as just "pulling the pin and replacing it" from the current design.

Sure wish they would post a complete "coming out" video and cut these tidbits of info. The suspense has gotten me completely disinterested.

I decided to wait til next year and go for the Mark VIII, which also pivots in the middle, so you can crosscut and rip at the same time.

In this video clip I see two different operations being performed. What is the difference? The views in question are at 1:05 and 1:59 minutes into the clip.

Both operations are the SS in shaper mode - the first (1:05) is the motor operating in forward direction - the second (1:59) is in reverse direction.

This question sorta refers to easterngray's response as well as to beeg's.

It seems as though something is being overlooked. In what appears to be the same setup (except that the motor direction is reversed) - don't the cutters have to be changed as well. If not, in one of the two the wood is being fed backward in the cutter.

Am I missing something?
