Thanks, Nuhobby, for bumping up this thread. Along with Ed and Dusty, I don't like for folks to complain for the sake of complaining. However, if a company is consistent to one or more of its customers in poor service or treatment, I would like to know about it. That way, I can decide before I deal with them on what to watch for and maybe find a way to navigate to a suitable conclusion. I'll just say as a virtual new comer here and with SS (just about 14 months ago), I have had excellent experience and get regular emails. I rarely buy anything from them, but if I need some customer support, I always get excellent help and advice. Which reminds me, my 4 year old grandson was playing with one of my featherboards and lost one of the screws. Will call tomorrow to get a new featherboard. Not going to trouble them for a screw as plastic breaks over time from fatigue.

This has been a very interesting read. I have wanted a Shopsmith for over 35 years when I first saw one demonstrated in the mall in the late 1970's. Now I have two and love them both. If and when I need to, I can set up two successive operations and just move from one machine to another. Rarely do that as breakdown and set up is often so minimal. But, nice to have a backup. So glad that SS is still supporting our old machines. When someone comes to see this thing work, they are totally amazed.

Good reading... Do you realize how often you said "I" in your run-on?

Ah ha the real secret of customer service;

I want what I want.
I want it when I want it.
I want it the way I want it.
I want it where I want it.
I want it at the price I think is fair.
I don't care who is inconvenienced.

What I myself truly desire is world peace. For everyone in the world to have a roof over their head, heat in the furnace and food in their stomach. For every being to be able to sleep without fear. For each and every potential worker to have a job that pays a fair wage. I wish for peace and prosperity this Thanksgiving. Jim Parks

Kinda difficult to speak in first person singular without using it!

Good read indeed!

It was a personal opinion just as all the others are. If you prefer not to read it, then don't. What comes out of my time and money, is personal. And, the "run-on" is not existent in my post.

Hey! "I" be on your side!(or is it possible you were responding to a different post?).;)

JPG, thanks for your support but the remarks was to Doug. It was not part of the criteria to be a master of English. OK, getting off my soapbox. Thanks again for your support. :)
