VERY nice people here!
Just a quick note to you all here about how glad I was to find you! I have an old 10ER, that I bought 15 years ago, from a guy that was from Russia. He had bought the tool from a guy who inherited it, also in Russia. When he moved to the US, he wanted a Sears lathe, and that's where I came in. This old thing is still dead accurate! Then, about a year ago, a young man I contract with, (and is a wonderful woodworker), had this 510 sitting in his shop, in the middle of the floor. I asked him if he liked it, and he said," Oh, I found that thing sitting on the side of the road, with a free sign on it, so I grabbed it!" I told him how lucky he was, and he said he had no interest in it, and would I like to have it. I explained I didn;t have the extra tool money right then, and he said," No, I meant you can have it". !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, I nearly killed myself getting it in the van before he changed his mind!! And that's how I ended up here! I have gotten several really nice PM's offering me the table parts I need.(Sorry, I didn't know there was no trading on the site). Without you guys, I'd be stuck with a great machine, and no table, and little chance for a new one from SS! Thank you, and my expertise, if I can ever help, is finishing (32 years), antique restoration, and previously a Paramedic/firefighter, so if you need to stop bleeding, or put out a fire, I'm good with that! Bless you all for the new year, and a hearty thank you! jimsjinx
The 510 table should be available from SS. It's the 500 table that's not. Maybe ya can find some one who upgraded their 510 to a 520?
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders, molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

I don't know who's confused here. Jimsjinx stated that he had a Mark 5 in good condition but with no table or fence. A Mark 5 being a 500 I conclude that he needs a 500 fence and table. Am I wrong?beeg wrote:The 510 table should be available feom SS. It's the 500 table that's not. Maybe ya can find some one who upgraded their 510 to a 520?

We need to know exactly what he has acquired!
Tain't his fault, these model designations be confusing(especially when they are mis-identified so often by so many).

Sorry for anyone who has tried to help, and I missed responding to you! I have had a ton of replies, and I tried to thank everyone! The unit I was talking about, that had no table was indeed a 510. I'm not up on SS stuff like you guys!!LOL I may even have posted the wrong one at first! My point is, I got more help here than anyplace else I've looked, and the people here were nice. Jimsjinx

Check out the procedure for posting pix. They eliminate confusion etc.
Hopefully somebody can provide a link to the instructions for posting pix.(I know not where it is:(!)
