wannabewoodworker wrote:I got the email today and was wondering if any of you would bite the bullet and get this upgrade. I know there was a healthy discussion about how they made a Mark VII out of a Mark V but I guess that question has been answered for some time now. Looks pretty neat but I already have an original Mark VII so I have no need for the upgrade but someone who does not have this could really benefit from being able to tilt the machine both directions.
Hi Michael,

I'm just now learning what a Mark 7 is. It's a bit confusing because of the old Mark VII, which I believe is what you have? After the upgrade as presented in the recent SS email, does anyone know how high the table will be for routing? Also, I suppose special routing throat plates will be required. Anyone have experience with the new Mark 7? Sorry if I'm repeating questions that have been already discussed in previous threads but I didn't really find what I was looking for when searching the forums.

Best,
Tom

Shopsmith now has a "quick release" gas tube as a replacement for the original gas tube on the lift assist.
