Miter Gage Extension plans

I went looking for the dimensions to make an extension for my Miter Gage and didn't find one. So I found it in the online PTWFE and here it is. I made mine 4.5" tall.

SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

The reason for the original height was to allow flipping it for use on either side. The mounting holes are centered.

Higher would be better for larger workpieces.

If you make it double hight, you should add two sets of holes so it can be used on both sides.

Miter Extension

Keep on the look out for an Incra fence. It works perfectly and is adjustable from one side to the other. Can be equipped with a stop.

Use mine frequently, especially when I want to rip small pieces. It's a great fence, but you have to remember to remove the clamp from the top.

WHY ya have to remove the hold down?
I found out AFTER using mine, that I should have made it a little narrower.

The board is too tall. But, is very handy to saw short logs. Have some dogwood to cut soon with a diameter of 6" - 8" and my fence is very helpful with such activity.
