I've finally mastered ther "art" of rebuilding my 500-table to a 510-table, but am not "up-and-running" yet because I don't have "new" 1 1/4" 510-saw-arbor to use with my "new" upper and lower guards...

In retrospect, I did have quite a time completing this conversion. I wrestled with all of the parts, even pulling off the headstock, by myself, and let me tell you, it was a real chore to complete the conversion...

This is a great upgrade from what I had. And I hope I can get "maximum" use from it. It will be a real jumpstart for using my saw more effectively. Now, if this table isn't a big bother when doing a few other things, I will be eternally grateful for making the upgrade...

Still needing a 1 1/4" arbor for a 510/520, any help would be appreciated...

What is easiest way to "unstick" a stuck arbor nut? I'm using penetrating oil at the thread joint as we speak...

If the nut is on the quill side, it is a left hand thread(lefty tighty, righty loosey).

The problem with the seized nut was solved, thanks for all of the help. Yes, I was attempting to turn it the wrong way, but I bought an arbor wrench, from Shopsmith, which made the job so much easier...amazing what a little knowledge can bring to light!!!...thanks again.

I finally have everything in place on my 500-to-510 conversion, and I plan on building "something" over the Fourth-of-July weekend to celebrate.

I wanted to thank everyone here that helped me with my conversion. I read everything I could find about how to configure my machine but there is a lot left "unsaid" in all of the manuals and paperwork. I'm understanding that just by using my machine, and doing all of the "fine-tuning", as needed, is really key to learning more about it's potential. I've always been a fan of the "Shopsmith-System" just because it is a modular system, and can be brought it a small space. I now am glad I've remained patient with using and developing it into "My-Shopsmith", so far it's been a joy...
