Shopsmith at the Woodworking Shows?

I hope that someone goes that will report back on how the presentation was. I do hope that the presenter shows some of the real capabilities of the PowerPro.

I was not particularly impressed by the demonstration of "pushing a thick piece of hardwood through the saw as fast as possible". Yeah, I know that the purpose was to show that the PowerPro "can cut it". There are better and more professional ways to do that.

The last Woodworking show I attended was in Tampa Fl. The show was very well attended and most of the demo's and workshops were put on by members of several woodturning groups from the Tampa area. Those demos were FANTASTIC to say the least. The show comes to Tampa again in March and I will probably make the treck again. I hope it is as good as the last one.

I MIGHT go to the show in Dallas at the end of te month. Even though it's technically in the same metroplex...it's 45 miles away from me

It's approximately a 2 hr drive for me but based on the seminars and instructors, I may just go for 1 day.

Glad to see that SS is making an appearance, hopefully it will help their sales.

Hopefully it will not 'stir up' the Lumberjocks!:D(the anti SS biased ones;))

Let us not stir that pot. Doing so never accomplishes anything positive. I feel as passionate about my Mark V as others do about their favorite stand alones.

Let them stir, some of them could use it.

Most of the people I know and deal with on LJ have nothing negative to say about the SS. There are a few that always seem to have something negative to say (usually about anything that is not what they do or the way they do it) But that does happen. I just don't let it bother me.

That being said, I'm not the ultimate SS fan boy either. It is a tool with its own strengths, weaknesses, and limitations like any other tool.

I think the Table Saw function is the weak point of the tool. But I have severely limited my use of that configuration anyways so not a big deal to me personally.

Well, I do believe I can make the show in Columbus -- it's a whole 5 miles from my office. And all freeway, to boot!
