When I check the number of viewers, then view the thread, then re-check the number of viewers and refresh I don't see the number of viewers tick up by one view. So I conclude it is not as simple as a few of us viewing multiple times.

Fear not! That is NOT an issue for a couple reasons. First - just how often do you adjust poly-v tension. Second - it's covered in the design. See drawing changes.
The revision incorporates a 6" steel ruler, held in pace by a magnet. The position of the steel rule allows for "calibration"

Remember that this is dependent upon a laser line. I use a Craftsman 4 in 1 Level (Laser Trac) part number 948247 to provide that.
The final version of this will have the two drive shaft holes enlarged to accommodate the hubs rather than the 5/8" shafts.
But from a different perspective...you could just mark the depth of cut right on the blade and read it direct. SWMBO made that suggestion. Gotta think about that.

You can scroll to the bottom of the page and it tells you how many active members and how many guests. It also lists the member ID's below that. It doesn't get you a complete history of viewers, but it can give you a clue.
I'm very interested to see your finished product and a demonstration!

My guess is you are planning to build a mounted laser that will show the depth of cut depending on the blade used. Or - if the slide works, it can be used to align a drill bit.
