At least you are working on things from 2015, I still have unfinished projects from the 1980's........
Kerf bending can be fun and frustrating. I like to make a form of the shape I'm after then do a test clamping and it that works out then I put the glue on and clamp it up. Since you can get some spring back it is good idea to do a test piece first.
Another option is bendable plywood and veneer. Just another thought.
