Great looking project! Why you would hide that away in an attic for 53 years, I'll never understand!

My son was on the school trap shooting team, it was one of the only high school teams that 8th graders were allowed to join. The school uses a local trap range and competes with other area schools. My son graduated in 2010 and I know it was still there when my daughter graduated in 2012.

You were not unique, I graduated high school in 1965. My ROTC unit had a competitive rifle team using 22s. One could get a athletic letter in rifle team. Plus we had 40 M1 rifles (the current main assault weapon of the US ARMY altho they were being replaced by the M14). We used them for drill purposes as they were too powerful to be fired in our range.

Squirrels. I hate squirrels!

Nice job on the box 53 years ago! I would have just started the first grade in school!

Winchester 52 with the Unertl scope.
I had one, and yes on an indoor 50ft small bore, .22, rifle league, in a school gym in the evenings once a week in the winter. Not just the whole gun thing around schools, but other then just exhaust fans in the loft to move air back then, no AC for sports, then the EPA/OSHA lead dust rules for indoor gun ranges closed most of them, do to the cost of meeting there standards of air quality.
An other time, and culture, B4 soccer moms that have nothing to do and need a cause to batter down.

Don G, I used to know all guns when I had my FFL, I dont recolonize it, pressed checkering, side button mag release, and the bolt, but have not been in that market for a couple decades.
What model?

The top one is Winchester 52 made in Japan by Miroku under Winnie patents.
A gorgeous tac-driver.

The bottom one is a genuine Winnie 52 with a Unertl 20 Target scope. Also a tac Driver.

Unertl 20 Target scope.
That unique external recoil spring on them!!!
I used to target shoot rifle and pistol, small bore and large bore, but for squirrels my Remington 1100, .410 was my to go to for them and with the hounds rabbit hunting, got to be too easy with the 20 ga, saved the Browning 20 ga English grip, points more natural then a pistol grip, for Ruffed Grouse.
Enough, dont want to be accused of a hijack, I am on supervised supervision hereLOL
