Growing up in Florida before central air conditioning, we had "damp chasers" in some of our closets. It was just a heating element to keep the temperature elevated. Would one or more 100W light bubs installed inside a box that surrounds the machine under a tarp keep the moisture out?

Hey, thanks everyone for the ideas. I found a section in the garage to keep it, so I suppose this thread is now moot. I like the desiccant idea though. I'll have to remember that one.
