I am a newbie with an old SS that turns on but makes a grinding sound. It's been sitting in garage for over 10 years. Can anyone give some guidance as to where to start?

Thanks!

When was the last time ya LUBE it? Like Dusty said, remove the belt. If it still makes a noise, is it a grinding or a squealing noise? If it's more of a squealing it may be the fan sheave rubbing on the motor housing. Part# 119 here.
