Been waiting for someone to mention the measuring scale on the side of the upper saw guard. It is easy and fast! Just have to have it mounted.
Of course everyone uses the upper saw guard, but simply forgot it has a depth gauge on the side.

The old "500" rip fence had measurements on it too, but I never used them.

I will admit I use the upper saw guard when I feel appropriate. Yet find the measure scale on both sides rather limiting. First at best it is only approximate. Secondly I find it difficult to sight across the blade well enough to feel comfortable with the measurement, Fjimp

I'm coming in a bit late on this discussion but for my current project I've been eye-balling it a bit and doing test cuts to verify measurements. For future projects I just ordered (today is the very last day to order) a set of the 'one-run'
Woodpecker's Setup blocks.. Sure, they're not cheap but seem like they'd work for a variety of functions that I was trying to achieve over the past few weeks when making my bookshelves with dado's (not using a dado blade) and various other cuts and should be more accurate than what I was doing. Did anyone else see these and order a set? Unfortunately I won't receive these until early October since they're hand-fabbed (in the USA)
